Most, if not all of the following pictures were taken by Frank Wiedenbach, a long time photographer with the Norfolk Daily News.  Frank
retired in the early 1990's and passed away a few years later.  His photographs were not only used by the Newspaper for their story, but
often became property of the
Norfolk Police Department and used by insurance companies, at trials, and retained for the historical record.

These photographs were rescued in 1988 by myself and Assistant Chief Dennis Lauver while cleaning out the old Norfolk Police
Department building in anticipation of moving into the new facility.  The boxes of junk made their way to the landfill and we grabbed these
pictures from the trash.

Assistant Chief Dennis Lauver retired a several years ago, and recently passed away after a battle with cancer.
